Summer 2009 : Wedding

cammie & ryan

Weddings are made of thousands of tiny details and delicate touches. Here are just a few of our favorite flourishes.

1. Everything Blue

The bride loves blue and knew she wanted hydrangeas for her bridesmaids. She continued the theme by having them (including all of her first cousins) dress in hues of blue.

2. Caramel Delight

Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed delicious caramel cakes from a local farmer’s market before heading to the reception site.

3. Oh Happy Day

The Lilly Baptist Church gospel choir sang that joyous tune (Cammie’s favorite gospel song) and surprised everyone with a medley of “When the Saints Go Marching In” and “All You Need Is Love” during the recessional.

4.Checkered Present

Cammie and Ryan crossed the parquet pattern of concrete and grass in her parents’ garden, as if walking toward their future together at their home in New Orleans.

5. Cool Recess

This niche at the bride’s family home held an urn of watery blue hydrangeas and green ivy that provided a visual pause.

6. Room for Dessert

For this space at the reception, Bob Vardaman used purple Dendrobium orchids, a mound of pink Oceana roses, and palm fronds atop the sociable, where he also placed the bride’s bouquet of roses and rosemary picked from her mother’s garden. Mexican shortbread wedding cookies and big jars of Jordan almonds requested by Cammie filled the tables beside the overflowing baskets of strawberries and array of sweet condiments and chocolate treats.

7. Feast for the Eyes

A majestic arrangement of Bells of Ireland, bear grass, roses, cymbidium orchids, purple stock, amaranthus, split leaf philodendron, and curly willow with tulips and Bells of Ireland in individual vases held sway over tables laden with cold soup cylinders and mini treats…
