Barbera Brooks shares how her company, B. Brooks Fine Flowers, ensures that arrangements sent through her network meet her rigorous standards of integrity, trust, and uncommon beauty
B. Brooks Fine Flowers, a San Francisco–based network of elite florists around the country, has been in the business of matching customers with elegant arrangements for almost 14 years. By carefully selecting and inviting each florist in her network, she has established a level of quality, customer service, and trust that her clients expect when in the market for sending arrangements that go above and beyond the standard fare. “We want to help our customers send quality flowers cross-town or cross-country with confidence,” she says. “We have an invitation-only consortium of fine florists and are always on the hunt for great florists everywhere.” We asked Barbera Brooks herself to share her thoughts about the business below.
flower: How do you ensure that the florists in your network maintain a consistent quality?
BROOKS: We have ongoing contact with them—in other words, although the ordering process can be 100 percent electronic, we stay in close touch with them throughout. We even talk to some of their suppliers or local customers. And, of course, we also invite and encourage our customers, both florists and consumers alike, to inform us of anything going particularly right or wrong.
Describe what sets your floral designers apart.
Our member florists exhibit high standards of integrity—personal, professional, and artistic. They send the freshest flowers, designed naturally, tastefully, and as close to what the client has requested as possible. If they cannot fill an order as requested, they let us know so we can get permission for substitution or try to find someone who can fill the order.
