flower sponsored Prince Charles’ former floral designer, Sarah Champier, in a wonderful workshop at the 21st Antiques and Garden Show of Nashville on February 11, 2011.
Champier demonstrated how to create a natural base for a loose, springtime arrangement, and then taught the group how to create the arrangement itself. The workshop was filled with women from all over the Southeast and was a tremendous success. Participants were beaming with pleasure as they left carrying their creations. DO try this at home:
- 1. Take several pieces of the vine or branches and mold them into a circle2. Take extra pieces of vine and form a cross in center, which acts as a “frog”2. Take extra pieces of vine and form a cross in center, which acts as a “frog”
3. Begin to weave plant material through the spaces
4. Add interesting items like a small terra cotta pot, a rope section tied in a knot, different types of moss, etc.
5. Tie the stems together underneath
6. Place in bucket or box to transport
7. Place in vase
