Buzz :: Nashville Launch Party
flower flourished in Nashville Magazine maven Margot Shaw hosted a stunning launch party for the debut of flower in Nashville at Cheekwood Mansion on March 29, 2007, where she presented guests with the floral artistry of some of the city’s top designers and a chance to peek at the fabulous Fabergé exhibit on display. A perfect entrée into spring, everything about the party gave guests the feeling of being inside the pages of the magazine and its beautiful and informative content. Upon arrival, guests were presented with adorable flower nametags and greeted by the fabulous flower-tinis in their final party appearance. Noted designer Joe Smith of Ilex for flowers did fabulous ambient floral décor for the party; not surprising since Smith is known nationally for his fresh ideas and awe-inspiring presentation. Joe was on hand to celebrate along with event planner Jayne Bubis who made sure guests had plenty of delicious tidbits to nibble on. Guests attending the party were a virtual who’s who of the city’s devoted flower community, many from the Grapevine Garden Club and the Horticultural Society of Nashville. All were amazed at the magical floral creations on display in the loggia. Some were lush, with cascading orchids, some were zen-like in their construction and containers, but each one captured the incredible talent and imagination of their creators. Designers sharing their talent included Mark Webber and Mike Whitler of Branches, Mark O’Bryan of the Tulip Tree, Joe Smith of Ilex, Jeff Bradshaw of Rebel Hill Florist, Lou Ann Brown of Sprig, Terry White of the English Garden, Jim Knestrick of Knestrick by Design and Big Event’s Martha Greenwood. Luscious orchids, an assortment of fruits, and divine Yves Piaget roses donated by Flower Transfer/Miami filled the air with a heavenly scent, mingling with the delightfully smooth sounds of Birmingham’s Eric Essix. Vive la fleur!
